YES Digital Marketing Learnership Opportunity

Takealot Marketplace Seller Support

About the Programme

Takealot, in partnership with the Youth Employment Service (YES), is offering a 12-month paid learnership opportunity for unemployed youth to gain valuable workplace experience.

This programme focuses on providing learners with digital marketing and e-commerce skills while supporting small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) who are Takealot Marketplace sellers.

Important Note: Learners will be placed with SMMEs (small businesses) who are Takealot Marketplace sellers, not directly with Takealot itself.

Programme Structure

Duration: 12-month fixed-term contract

Placement: With small businesses (SMMEs) who sell products on Takealot Marketplace

Work Split:

  • 80% Digital marketing and marketplace activities.
  • 20% Exposure to other aspects of the SMME’s business operations.

Location: Various locations across Gauteng, primarily in townships and urban centers

Support: Regular monitoring and support from Takealot’s programme coordinators

Important Notes

Learners may be required to complete a basic digital skills assessment.

This learnership is part of the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative, designed to create work opportunities for unemployed South African youth.


What you’ll do

This is a list of tasks that you will be responsible for doing on your days at work.

  • Deliver timely, accurate and professional customer service aligned to service level standards. 
  • Resolve product or service problems by utilizing your listening skills to clarify our customer’s query; assess any service failure to identify the root-cause and take appropriate action. 
  • Communicate with our customers via phone and email. 
  • Utilize a variety of software tools to navigate to a resolution. 
  • Liaise between internal departments to solve our customer queries. 
  • Take ownership of our customers and ensure their needs are met in accordance with being Africa’s most customer-centric company.

Requirements

  • Clear criminal record

Preferences
