TB HIV Care (THC), in existence since 1929, is an internationally recognised non-profit organisation. We provide health care services throughout South Africa to both the general population and communities at increased risk for HIV and TB, including adolescent girls and young women, sex workers and people who use drugs.

Purpose of the position:
To conduct out-reach activities in the sex worker community by providing current accurate health information, mobilisation of SWs to the mobile unit and linkage to care.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 10
- Must have a minimum of 1 – 3 years’ work experience in the sex industry or experience as a peer educator
- Fluent in English and African languages
- Clear criminal record
- Additional Requirements:
- All Candidates must be between 18-29 years
- Candidates must reside within 5kms from the clinic you are applying for
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct mapping, with the guidance of the Structural Program Coordinator, to identify hots spots to mobilize AGYW for HIV prevention.
- Draw on knowledge of the target community to identify Community -Based Organizations, youth structures, youth ambassadors and Community Health Workers to support the mobilization efforts.
- Conduct pre-screening to identify vulnerable AGYW
Educate (AGYW) about HIV and available prevention services
Implement effective case management strategies in accordance with the case management standard operating procedures. - Ensure that referrals to outside agencies are made.
Support the team in assessing the needs of youth in relation to HIV prevention, linkage to care and adherence to treatment. - Communicate with all beneficiaries assigned as per SOP.
- Inform the Structural Programme Coordinator about operational challenges
- Attend training and workshops as part of staff development
- Participate in interdisciplinary team and case review meetings
- Lobby and advocate for youth in relation to HIV, gender and other related issues
- Submit monthly reports to the supervisor
- Submit mobilisation and case management tools weekly to the Structural Programme Coordinator
