Position: Youth Employment Service – Post-matric multi-skilled roles (Diploma/NQF Level 6)

Duration: Fixed-term contract for 12 months.

Remuneration: This position offers a stipend instead of a salary, intended to help with fundamental expenses as you gain important work experience that will improve your employability in the future. What you’ll do

Successful applicants will be placed in YES roles across all Nedbank divisions nationally.

Job responsibilities will vary depending on the role in which you are placed. Based on you meeting our qualification requirements you may find yourself placed in one of the following functions:

  • Administration, operations, and facilities: Complete relevant administrative tasks to meet departmental and business requirements, aligning with the Nedbank’s strategy, approved processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Finance: Analyse, interpret, collate, and present financial and non-financial information to drive strategy and enable decision-making.
  • Human resources: Coordinate and provide administrative support to the Human Resources Team, delivering a professional and value-adding human resources service.
  • Information technology: Deliver a variety of technical services and operational support to maintain a highly reliable environment, while providing administrative support to the team in line with the business strategy.
  • Investment banking: Ensure quality implementation and maintenance of deals according to legal agreements and internal processes.
  • Project, process, and product: Ensure all logistics related to administration and reporting support are provided to the project team in line with the business strategy, risk, audit and compliance.
  • Sales and service: Create great client banking experiences in smaller branch environments through digital enablement, basic selling, servicing, problem-solving, and client education regarding products and services, aligned with the bank’s strategy.
  • Collections: Manage arrear accounts by addressing defaults on monthly instalments, thereby reducing risk and provisions in alignment with business strategy.

Any of these roles may involve the duties of a coordinator, administrator, analyst, assistant, officer and other specialised roles under supervision.

These roles focus on delivering excellent service and promoting Nedbank as the bank of choice.

You will be required to do the following:

  • Help your team be effective by delivering on your duties.

Minimum requirements

You must:

  • have a matric certificate (Grade 12 National Senior Certificate); an NQF Level 5 in a business, finance or a related field would be an advantage but is not mandatory;
  • be between 18 and 29 years old (born between June 1995 to January 2007);
  • be currently unemployed;
  • have not participated in a YES programme at another organisation before; and
  • be a South African-born African, Coloured or Indian (South African citizens as set out in the definition of ‘black people’ in the Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment Act, 53 of 2003), with a valid South African ID.

Required qualifications

You must have a diploma in one of the following areas:

  • Accounting
  • Administration
  • Business management
  • Economics
  • Finance
  • Human resources
  • Information technology (without specialisation)
  • Law
  • Marketing
  • Sales and client service

Technical and professional requirements

  • You must be proficient in speaking and writing in English.
  • You must have basic computer knowledge.

Work

  • Depending on your role and allocation, you will be fully onsite or follow a hybrid work arrangement based in one of the above mentioned locations, with remote work on agreed days, in alignment with Nedbank’s work policies.
