Traffic Officer Job Opportunities Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must have a Matricula certificate and a Traffic Officer Diploma.
Minimum operating experience of 12 months.
Clean criminal record, no criminal record.
A valid EB driver's license
Registered as Highway Traffic Police Officer.
Vehicle Title Examiner and Advanced Driver's Licenses.

Additional requirements:
Knowledge of road traffic systems, practices and processes, the Road Traffic Management Corporation Law, the National Road Traffic Law and the Criminal Procedure Law.
Understanding of law enforcement principles, the road traffic sector, road transport management legislation and intergovernmental relations.
Duties and responsibilities:
Carry out effective law enforcement to ensure road safety, timely service (traffic control), speed measurement, overload control, pedestrian violation enforcement, crowd control, effective law enforcement to ensure safety road and physical escorts for VIP, abnormal loads and events.
Dealing with traffic violations, drunk driving and traffic accidents.
Stop vehicles for inspections and issue traffic tickets/citations and warnings.
Impound cars that are not roadworthy, illegally parked, or abandoned.
Public transportation law enforcement.
Record accidents and secure accident scenes.
Liaise with SAPS and collect information on traffic accident scenes.

Additional Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all policies and Standard Operating Procedures in the exercise of their functions.
Use equipment and vehicles effectively.
Maintain logs and records in the work area.
Give evidence in court for any violation.
Keep records of activities and prepare reports on infractions, transgressors, accidents.
Share information and work with other law enforcement agencies as directed and
appropriate.
Value-added relationships built with stakeholders.
Continually develop your own personal expertise and drive personal growth.
